We are discussing whether there would be even a miniscule amount of alcohol left in your body after a couple of drinks the night before and whether a zero tolerance would even be possible.

Many physiologically active materials are removed from the bloodstream (whether by metabolism or excretion) at a rate proportional to the current concentration, so that they exhibit exponential decay with a characteristic halflife (see pharmacokinetics).
