I know a lot of techniques that do not work well and only two that do.
Lots of teachers have the ones that didn't do well perform at the blackboard, sometimes in groups. This doesn't seem to work well for most.
Double homework doesn't work well because they are probably not good homework performers in the first place.
Either of these should have the underlying problems addressed first.
