Our black dogs (we have 3) started turning gray at about 5 years old. It could be different with breed, size and diet.

If you have a large breed dog it will start turning gray around 5. If you have a small breed dog it usually turns gray around 8. Big breed dogs example is Boxers, German Shephards. Small breed dog example is Chihuahua, Yorkie.
