tv. was on working fine, then all the sudden it went off and now it will not come back on.

It sounds like you've lost the power supply. Smell the back of the set for a burned smell. You may be able to have just the power supply replaced and get things going again. One other question. Did you try the set in another outlet? It could be a grounding problem with the wiring to that outlet in your house.
