Dehydration. Why do I vomit some 36 hours after I ride in 100 + weather?
Asked by: vegan from -
I ride a road bike in 100+ plus weather in So. Cal. for 45 miles, both Sat. and Sun. I use a high grade electrolyte drink mix and then have an extra Gatorade. I use sun block and have the best wicking clothing money can buy. My friends don't get sick but I have to go to the e.r. after a day or so because I am so dehydrated. How can I avoid this post ride trauma? Last night I was so cramped up I had to have Morphine to give me some relief. Please help!

Two days before your ride, you have to hydrate big time. Drinking during the ride takes too long to get into your system, and the heat sweats it right out! You have to start the ride well-hydrated, and keep drinking during the ride, and afterwards.
