cat won't eat food

my cat will not eat his food but he will eat the dogs food, how do I get him to eat his food and will it hurt him to eat the dogs food

Many cats will try to eat dog food but cats need their own food because of certain nutrients the cat needs (different to some degree from dogs) and clean fresh water every day.

Apparently, you have a dog also, when feeding your dog and cat feed them while you are making dinner and this allows you to keep a good view of what is going on. If your dog leaves their food (grazes) then pick it's bowl up ...

It won't hurt him to eat the dog's food, but maybe it's time you changed the cat's food to another brand or flavor! That could be the problem. Try the beefy flavored cat foods, or chicken! Not all cats like the fishy stuff!
