Osama has been in spellcheck since the events of 9/11 - Obama is only a few years in the top news stories, and we see it so often that it is rare that we need a spellcheck - I'm sure it will be in the future!

It really depends on what word processing software you have on your computer. Yes, I cross checked my "word 2002", Obama name isn't in the software dictionary. So there other names are not in this dictionary. Anything names or words aren't found, you have to "add" it your software dictionary.

Unfortunately, Osama is now a household name after the tragedy of 9/11. Unfortunately also, a presidential candidate does not have the notoriety of a famous terrorist. I'm sure Obama will make it into spellcheck eventually, especially if he wins.

Osama means lion and has long been a popular first name I understand. It isn't in my spell checker and I have several dictionaries installed. Obama isn't either.
If Sen Ted Kennedy can't keep them straight, what hope is there for the rest of us?
It takes a long time for words to make dictionaries. The time is shortening, but not this short.

Too good and too bad always make first to the dictionary and news. Osama reached the second option and he is in the dictionary where as I find Obama as a good person and he has to become too good to get into dictionary. Isn't it?

Spellcheck routines are based on importance. Ossama will be around for a long time. Obama will be gone soon.
