I went to the movies every Saturday. After the movie I bought a comic book and a popcycle and laid in the hammock. This cost a total of 25 cents.
At night we played kick the can till our parents called us home. Or we played cowboys and Indians or Army (US vs Nazis ).
Then with our parents we played 20 questions or Chinese checkers.

Radio was the only source of entertainment as far as the media was concerned! There were dramas, soaps, music and variety shows that we all enjoyed. Mostly, we played outside - summer and winter - until our parents dragged us in to get ready for bed! I remember outdoor skating, sledding, swimming, playing ball, tag, and other games which were so much fun! We played cards a lot, read a lot, and used our vivid imaginations to play let's-pretend games! It was a simple life, but it was wonderful!...
