95 Ford Escort trouble
|
When starting my dad's Ford Escort, which is fuel injected, you have to pump the gas pedal. When the car starts, the battery light stays on and it chugs just a bit, but isn't misfiring. There's also a hint of blueish smoke emitting when accelerating. What could this be?

"Blue smoke is from oil burning. Your engine has internal problems such as piston blow by, valve stem seal problems, broken/worn piston rings, etc. It may be time for an engine overhaul."
