How do I get my 13 month old to sleep longer than 1/2 hour for her naps?

My 13 month old will sometimes sleep only 1/2 hour for her naps. She only takes 2 a day, and this is not enough. I have read Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child, and other resources, and don't really know how to fix this problem. We have a schedule, she has a lovey, white noise plays in her room, we read a book and I lie her down awake. I leave her in her crib to possibly fall back asleep, but it normally doesn't happen. When we have days like this, she will end up going to bed around 6:40 and sleep for about 12 hours. Sleep is a huge priority and I never have her miss a nap. The only problem I see is that when she was in daycare, she would only sleep 20 minutes the entire day, then I'd have to come home and get a nap before dinner, when she'd again only sleep 20 minutes. Sometimes she seems cranky during the afternoon, but at times she doesn't. I know she isn't ready to give up her morning nap, as she is rubbing her eyes and yawning in the morning. Any help/advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated! I want my little girl to get the rest she needs to stay healthy, happy, and attentive.

I have a 2 1/2 year old that was the same when he was little. For some, they are just soooo active that they only need one nap. I tried activities and doing my errands during the morning and then come home and make lunch. After lunch play for a few and then to bed for a nap. My son would start rocking on his hands and knees and then eventually when sitting. This told me that he was getting tired. He still fights me on the napping but is usually down for two to three hours when he finally falls asleep.

I hate to tell you this but sometimes little ones don't "fit" into the grown-up idea of scheduling and routines. As much as we would love for them to. This "problem" might just be yet another one way of her changing and growing.
Maybe you can combine the two naps into one at an in-between time. Run errands, etc in the morning so that she uses up energy and may be more willing...
