Strictly scientific jerk answer: I would "hide" wherever my owner placed me because books are unable to move, or to even form thoughts for that matter.

A book that's full of important "stuffs" shouldn't be hidden. I believe that knowledge should not be the domain of the priviledged. sorry (...and I know that I'm in the minority to think this way).

People definitely see whats in the locker once or twice.Some times people see at all the less visible places, while cleaning,but they never see what they have put in the dustbin![except at office,rummaging for something they saw earlier! lol]
