We live in a throw away society now. Things are designed so that you don't fix them, you replace them. It is not that they can't be fixed, it is that it is cheaper to replace.
This has spilled over into personal relationships. It is so much easier to start a new one than to repair the old one.
About the only thing that can not be fixed is life itself. Once it is dead...

An egg shell! I dropped one, and I got out the Krazy glue! I had it almost done, so I tried to get the slimy stuff back in before I finished, and it broke again. This was so discouraging! So I chug-a-lugged a bottle of wine to ease my sorrow! Yahoo!

I'm going to say trust. Although, over time trust can be earned. But, you can never truly completely trust someone who has proven that they are not trustworthy. The relationship just isn't the same...

A computer keyboard cannot be fixed if it has had a whole can of beer spilt on it. It is considered broken and has to be replaced, trust me , i know. (ask my husband )
