Can't cancel email service correctly HELP!!!!!!?

I want to change my email completely from gmail to yahoo, the only problem is it wont let me change. I get to the screen where it says delete your gmail account, but then Gmail just wants me to create a new email address on their system, so there is no possible way for me to leave! Please tell me how to get out of this, Thanks in Advance
