ZENN: Full Electric Vehicles On Sale Now
While the major car manufacturers are busily trying to release a model or two of plug-in hybrids in the next few years, the race is on between those companies that are already offering ZEV (Zero-emissions vehicles). The Tesla is the only "true" electric car on the market at this time. It has a range of 220 miles and a claimed top speed of 125 mph. The recharge time is only about 3.5 hours. It was based on the Lotus Elise and the Elise was used as developement mule, but the finished vesion has very few part shared with the Lotus. It does look something like an Elise. You can go to TeslaMotors.com for details. The price is around $109,000.

GM used to have an EV1 which you just plugged into your wall to charge it. It was popular with the owners but GM pulled the program. This was some time ago.
Now you have the Tesla which as mentioned in another answer, is the only fully electric car available in the market. I don't think it's available in Canada....
