This basically tells us that we can expect to have to discipline "the flesh", which is our sexual desires and behaviors, that do not coincide with God's law, but, if we, "walk in the Spirit," walk with the Lord, we will have His strength to prevent ourselves from falling prey to sexual sin, such as homosexuality. God knows we are tempted. He knows we are prone to sin. He tells us through His word, that He is the way of escape. He is our best defense. If someone is gay, and they choose not to be, God is able to deliver them. If they do not ask to be delivered, then they are making a conscious choice to sin and will have to pay the ultimate price. The Bible does promise that homosexuals are destined for hell.
