Hummingbird vs. Moth
|
A hummingbird or large moth flew into our home at night in the Palm Springs, CA area last week. I was able to trap the creature with a broom as it clung to the surface of the pantry door. I was faced with the decision as to whether or not to kill it. Since it was late, I chose to do so rather than chance it getting away within the house and flying around all night. Sadly, I had to crush it through the broom. As I did, there was a crunching sound, like stepping on a cockroach.
Before capture the creature flew like a moth, not like a Hummingbird. That is, it did not hover, but rather flew around wildly in its attempt to escape. However, it was larger than any moth I had ever seen.
Question: Is it possible for a Hummingbird to affix itself to a flat surface like a moth is able to do?
