Laptop Preference
Asked by: dtx1 from -
If you were going to purchase a laptop computer in the next 60 days, which brand (Dell, HP, Sony, Lenovo, other) would you choose? Please include the reasons why you would make this choice. For example: size, features, support, OS etc...

Thanks
Additional Details added (04/04/08):
Thanks for all your responses. Interestingly, no one has mentioned HDMI connectivity or faster I/O such as Gigabit Ethernet or 802.11N as a consideration. With growing multimedia files sizes, the exploding availability of streaming online content driving the demand for faster Internet connectivity, and the increased use of network accesible storage, wouldn't I/O speeds and HDMI all be important considerations???
Additional Details added (04/09/08):
Please remember the question asks what computer YOU would buy and why. I'm interested in knowing what features YOU think are important if YOU were making a buying decision in the next 60 days. I am not looking for your advice on how to select a laptop. Thanks

I would choose a Macbook. Reasons: The features fit me. It's power and performance is far better than windows. It is much better equiped and equipable for editing music and video. Although games are limited and certain features are limited, it meets my needs much better.

Lenovo.
They have, like apple, the best customer support service around.

The prices aren't has high as the competition, and since it's windows you'll be having a much offer of software.

Now it all depends on your needs and price range....

Well if I were to get a laptop I would go to www.ibuypower.com. They have great prices, their laptops are highly customizable and are cheap. They have laptops that come with Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11N, HDMI all built in, webcams, microphones, and even finger scanners. Not only that you aren't forced to get Windows Vista commonly referred to as Windows AIDS Edition. You also have a choice between Intel and AMD though right now Intel is superior. Also their bare minimum laptops can game pretty well. Did I mention they have...

I would choose compaq. It has style, about 180 gbts. and it is slim and light.
you could choose between xp,vista, or windows. But between xp and vista i would choose xp for convinence and less waiting and vista for style and different features. However vista is very annoying and slow. Some compaq laptops are designed for working and some are for fun. the internet conection is exellent and some will have wi-fi built-in for travelers or people on the ...
