Port Royal, SC april 10, 1862 by Union Naval forces of the South Altantic Blockading Squadron secured the blockade from S.C to Key West, followed up by reductions of other Sea Island coastal forts and the capture and control and replenishment by Union Forces of Fort Pulaski on the mouth of the Savannah
by Dahlgren tightened the strangle hold of the S.Atlantic seaboard.
