My response is, religion is a personal thing...however, I'd say read Revelations, I believe that is more than relevant to our time, also the book of Daniel, things for our time were prophesised there also. I'm no expert on religion, and I'm no more religious than the next person....
What I've said here is based on my own experience, and it's still up to each individual to have his own personal thoughts about religion.

Religion is (or was) a perfectly logical way to explain life when the concept first came around. It is also a pretty damn good way to get people to listen to you. But the truth is, in this day and age all religion and god are are traditional beliefs...there's nothing that points toward the existence of a higher being whatsoever....

No you are wrong. Religion has it's own special place in modern world. Religion is a tool to fulfill human beings desire. And desire has no bounds. Through region many inhuman person change to human and many many social activites and upliftment in many ways goes on.

Next to bat is the fact that we still don't know how the universe started. Unless we can figure this out, Religion will always be around. If we do, then religion will change, but still be here. Religion is a symbol of an after life. There are only three things that can happen after you die (well 4).

1) Going to heaven, join karma, reincarnated to a human again, etc. All the good options. This is when you've lived a good life, and you are shown appreciation for that. This also though requires a steady faith.

2) Hell, reincarnated to a poop eating fly, hades, etc. All the bad options. This is when you're either a atheist, agnostic, or did nothing but bad mouthed religion.

3) Nothing. This is when religion is false. There is simply nothingness, you are in a dreamless sleep that you do not wake up from. This is why religion was started after all. This is the cause of religion, and this is the thing that scared people into believe in religion at first.

It's place in the modern world is everything. As long as people participate, it will help in their views. If your religion wants more peace, then you should want it as well. Of course the terrorists take this to the extreme, as they contradict themselves, same as politicians though at times.

So yes, it does have a place. Though, my deduction could be wrong.

I disagree with ur statment. I am religious, but not everyone goes to church or prays or worships a holy object. People have their own personal idea about religion. Whether it is morally, what they think is right, or what someone else thinks is right, everyday people are constantly experiencing religion, u may just not recongize it.
