You may breakdown the power.
Here's the idea.
10 raised to the power of 3 means that you should multiply
10 raised to the power of 1 by 10 raised to the power of 1 by 10 raised to the power of 1, right?

I concur - on a calculator!
1.05 to the power of 4.5 is the same as the square root of 1.05 to the power of 9. If you are guessing it it will be somewhere between 1 and 2 but the easiest way to work it out is by plugging it in and hitting enter.
