computer troubleshooting

I can't link onto underlined subjects, also my computer will not shut down automatically i have to use the power button, I have waited up to 20 minutes for it to shut down .

It looks like a RAM problem, Dust or other grime at the RAM contacs.
I would
1. open the computer
2. find the RAM stick (or 2)
3. at the end of the stick push down the levers to remove the RAM
