If it's true that diamonds are a girl's best friend, and a dog is man's best friend, aren't our priorities a bit screwed up?

Must have been a jewelry store (tiffany?)that came out with that "diamonds" thing. Notice the plurality of the word. Or was it Marilyn Monroe? That dog comment should have said mankind's best friend. My dog likes my wife better. :(

probably because most women deserve the diamond after the significant other takes on the roll of a dog. lol

Well as I look at it there is also the expression that all men are dogs. So shouldn't the statement actually be that dogs are womans best friend seeing as men are usually the one thats supplies the Diamonds. lol
