Organ transplantation. Because of this, recipients, who's light would have been blown out too soon, will continue to be productive members of society. My aunt received a new liver 6 years ago, is back to work and doing wonderfully. She was given a death sentence, prior to her transplant. Thanks to the kindness of a donor, she was given another chance. Bravo organ donors!
