When taking a toddlers temperture under the arm do you subtract degees?

Add a few! Oral temperatures are higher because it's warmer in the mouth than under the arm. Same for rectal temps. and ear temps. - all warmer!

When taking your childs temp under the arm the normal reading should be 97.6 degrees. That is not the most reliable choice. When the temp. reaches 99 degrees under the arms it is considered out of range. When taking by mouth 100 degrees is considered out of range. Hope this helps
