It is ridiculous anyway to form an opinion about someone based on one particular characteristic. Can you imagine a society where people who collected stamps were practically defined by that and that alone. "Yes he is a brilliant brain surgeon but I'm afraid he's a stamp collector". Positive discrimination is just as bad. "Okay he's a mass murderer but at least he grows his own tomatoes".
Take heart that not everyone is like that. There are those of us (myself included) who couldn't give a stuff what your sexual orientation is.

Not all people hate homosexuals! Some people are homophobic - they hate being around gay people. Some believe homosexuality is a sin. Gay or straight, there are good and bad in all of us. We shouldn't judge people by their sexual orientation, but by their personality traits and how they treat others. Most people do not hate gays! Thank goodness!

I have to agree with both of the answers from Marilou and DHAY. I have a family member who is gay. It´s really hard on both the person and family in society. My personal beliefs are that some people are raised ignorant. It´s funny how those people that get to know the person that is gay, and-or see what they go through each day, change their beliefs. I really think it is the way people are raised and whether they are educated or not.
