Can my daughter's boyfriend charge her 8,000.00 upon eviction from his home?
|
My daughter had been seeing this man for about 2 yrs. She lived in a small affordable apartment at the time. He has a nice home. He told her that she would have a much better life if she would move in with him. He got boxes, they packed her things and he moved her in, furniture and all. They slept in the same bed(her bed), he professed his love for her and things were fine for a few months. Then he became disenchanted with her after 11/2 yrs and got an eviction notice saying she was a tenant of his and owed him 8,000.00 for the time she was there. She has 5 days to move and to take papers to court house in response. She can't afford her own place, much less to pay him this money.

Of course not it is absurd. She entered the house at his invitation and not as a tenant. Let the silly bugger waste some money on a lawyer.
