I have a male relative with these symptoms: Eating well, but losing weight at a rate of a pound a month. He has protein in his urine on which antibiotics have no effect. He had a CT scan showing a cyst on the adrenal gland above the kidneys. His urologist is doing nothing! What is his problem, and what should be done? (He has no elevation in blood sugar, but a slight elevation in blood pressure).

Dang Marilou I have nothing. Sorry to hear of his problems. Are the proteins showing an abnormally high number? When my Mom's kidneys started failing she would always watch how much protein was in the urine. As the count went up the kidney function went down. Her problems began with diabetes but then later worsened due to a tumor in her kidney. The tumor was found on accident looking for something else. Doesn't sound like this is his case. Good Luck. Hopefully someone out here is smarter than me.
