You should just, straight up ask him if he likes you, or say something like, "Just in case you like me I am letting you know that I like you!" or you could have someone else ask him for you.

Yes it's tricky isn't it? I'm not entirely certain how old you are either and much depends upon that! I would just spend time with him if I were you and see if there are common areas of interest to give you something to talk about. At some point you will simply have to tell him that you like him and see how it goes!
