Why whould a guy lie about his age?

I found out that the guy that i have a crush on lies about his age. Not just to me but to everybody. he says that he is 29 when he is actually like 30 31.

He lies about his age for the same reason women do - he's scared of getting older, and he figures 29 sounds better than 30! Kind of silly, but harmless enough I guess!
