The Flemish often treat the Wallons like 2nd class citizens. The Flemish have a majority in Parliament and they use it to the maximum. There's no tolerance for the needs of Wallons in their agenda. As a result the Prime minister finds himself at an impass on almost everything pro Wallons. Many Wallons have even suggested that they aligne themselves to France. The French people like the idea but the French Gov't. doesn't. The wealth of Belgium lies in the north where the Flemish live, that's why.

The trifurcation of Belgium would only weaken its central government and serve to weaken the premise upon which the E.U. exists.
