Why do you take all your petty things and leave the most important one?

I think its because either we are over confident or we are careless.Some times,we are confident that we have packed everything that we don't verify it,and think about other petty things which will be useful.......In the end,we will have all needed things except the most vital one! quite annoying really.

That sure is true. And I find it gets worse as you get older. I think it is because the petty things are easy and the most important thing is the hardest.
Perhaps your brain counts all the petty things and the most important thing is only one. To your unconscious it is quantity and not quality.
But the most important thing will have its day.

Because I make lists, and then leave them home! When I really need something at the grocery store, I go, buy a cart load, and forget the one thing I needed the most! I call those occasions 'brain farts'!
