no picture coming out from TV
Asked by: jdrex76 from -
I have a Sony 27” tube semi flat tv. I can hear a click when I turn it on and off but no picture is coming out. However, I can see that there is a standby red light (close to where the remote is - sensor front middle bottom). What could be the problem?

The problem is probably somewhere in the high voltage power supply or more often than not, the horizontal output transistor. The clicking you hear is the click of a relay applying power to the high voltage supply. If nothing happens after the click it means your power supply isn't working or the H.O.T. is not working to produce a picture.
With the price of flat panels coming down it's becoming less and less cost effective to repair tube tv's....
