My dad isnt a small person. he's about 270 pounds. I was having a fight about quitting football with him and my mother..... and i told him to shut up. He jumped in my face and told me that i cant talk to him like that and im not billy badass, and i pushed him (Definitely not a kick) with my foot to keep my distance. He tackled me into the table and ripped my shirt off and told me i can't take him...im not as tough as him etc. I know its not child abuse, but what should i do to try to fix it? I really dont feel like talking to him for obvious reasons. I'm 15 by the way.

I don't like my father either that's one of the reasons i move away with a friend, i advice you to just let it be i mean if he is not the type of person who listens then just ignore it, after his anger has departed, i do't think you have to apologize he already did something about it unless you feel his feelings were hurt or something! Am not a father so i don't know what i would want.

Your father is a bully and has probably put a scar on your relationship that will never heal, but that is your call. Fights of this kind are unfortunately common and you are just going to have to keep it in perspective, i.e. shit happens.
You will from here on probably hold him at "arm's length," which means you will never be "daddy's boy" again, but then you don't ...

I think you were both wrong. Instead of kicking your dad, which is extremely disrespectful, you should have said, "Dad, I don't want to fight like this, I just wanted to talk to you guys." I think he felt very disrespected. But, his reaction was way out of line. It was physical violence, whether you were injured or not. Maybe after some time has passed, you could approach him and tell him that you are sorry about the whole thing. Tell him you are very sorry for kicking him and telling him to shut up, and how d...

Teenagers now days are very disrepectful to the elders...I suggest that you apologize to your parents, especially your father, as this was disrespectful to both of them. Tell him that you will never take him, as you will never want to...He only made a move because you made a move...An argument over quiting football for a 15 year old is not acceptable...Listen to your parents side without the argument and ask them to listen to your side....It does work......

I'm not someone to know everything, but if i was in that situation I would tell him that size isn't everything. It's all dependent on how well he knows you. I would say he doesn't know you as well as he should. He yells at you about not being able to take him. He seems more like someone with a tough childhood or something else that makes him think like he can pick on people who are smaller than him. Try showing him how he is acting. But don't tell him directly show him in an indirect way. Hope it helps in anyway....

My father and I never got physical, although there were plenty of times when I felt like giving him a brick-hard knock right in the jaw. I so glad I didn't. I took the other fork in the road. I tried to reason with him.
The worst way to waste your time when trying to convince someone of something is to make sure they agree with you. Screw that!! Sometimes the only thing you can do with a Bullheaded person is to make sure he understands you....
