What happens if you don't select the best answer who get's selected or what if you have money who gets it? I already know you lose points if you don't select it!

If you don't select best answer, askpedia does it for you, and if you offered a reward, the person they choose gets that money. That's the way they did it when the contests were still in place! Now, I can't see any point in choosing them - there's no best answer category, just how many questions you answered! But we're still asked to do it! Maybe they're going to surprise us at the end of the month by telling us who got the most best answers - who knows!?...

Since I have been on the site, it appears that the first person who answers the question first receives best answer by default.
