What is the limit of cigarette packs you can personally transport on a plane?

Traveling to MI, and some relatives asked me to bring them a couple of cartons of smokes....Is there going to be any issues at the airport? Shouldn't be right? Supposedly this is a free country ...

It's a free country as long as you bring one carton, or 200 cigs. per person - of course there are ways to take more but that isn't legal, so I can't talk about that! But you can probably figure that out!

You can get as many duty free as you want but have to pay duty on all after 200 smokes. So this is what you do.When you board the plane with your duty free bag you take it to the toilet.First of all, dispose of the duty free labels in the sanitary bin. Open all the packets of fags and pop them in your pockets and hand luggage (make sure the seal is opened). Then put the duty free bag back in the overhead compartment.Customs won't ask because they really don't care about things like this .And if someone had tampered with...
