how do you find a leak attic

we bought this house 4 yrs ago . It rain heavy last night. we noticed the seam from ceiling was drop water

It is hard. The best thing to do is have an experienced roofer look at it. Even they can't always find it. But they can look at the materials and know if they are in the proper condition. That is what I am doing tomorrow at noon.
