Can I be appointed an attorney as a plaintiff on a civil action in United States
|
Court of Appeals? Eleventh Circuit located in Atlanta,GA See Appeal#08-10565-F and District Court#03-00412 CV-T-E. I am a disabled veteran of the Marine Corpes. I am recieving Social Security disability income for conditions that were created and exacerbated by the veterans Administration and the military. I am litigating a civil action against the VA pro se claiming malicious prosecution.I had a pro bono attorney for four years,I was highly pleased with her performance until my claim was dismissed in the lower court on a summary judgement that my counsel never challenged on my behalf. So I appealled pro se by filing a motion to proceed forma pauperis-this motion was denied so I filed a motion for reconsideration. I cannot afford an attorney nor can I afford the requested $450.00 filing fee. Since I am bringing an action agianst the government it seems to that alot of the attorneys that I have spoken with are either afraid to go up against the government or want to charge thousands of dollars that I cannot afford to represent me.

The next thing to do is to apply to the legal aid societies in your area.
I think that the lawyers would be willing to take large sums of money and still lose the case. The sad fact is that the courts are unlikely to reconsider in your favor. It also a sad fact that the ones with money get the best justice. I don't see a solution. Life is not fair. There have been some bad things in providing care to disabled veterans . I have a son providing care. I hope it gets better....
