The first evidence gathered at a crime scene would be trace evidence, followed by blood evidence, fingerprints, dna evidence and other more obvious evidence that a crime has been committed. This is done by crime scene investigators and processed in a crime lab. The police report of the crime is offered into evidence, as is witness evidence, time-line evidence, alibi evidence, and in the case of unlawful death, autopsy evidence. There are many other sources of evidence, depending on the crime committed....
