USA to Vietnam power conversion.
Asked by: UltimateTuner from -
I am heading off to Ho Chi Minh city in a few weeks and I am going to need to charge my phone (iphone 3G). Question is that what am I going to need to convert from our USA standard power outlet to theirs. I know I am probably going to need a converter but also an adapter too because I doubt that their plugs are the same as ours. I need something that I can keep plugged in for about 8 hours max continuous (i usually charge while I sleep).

Normally phone chargers are in the range of 100-240 Volts so there is no need to get an adapter or charger. That's what the phone is for, take it anywhere in the world and the chargers should work!

If you are still unsure, just check to see on your charger if it says anywhere:

You are right about needing both. Keeping it plugged in is not a problem.
I went to Radio Shack and was lucky to find a very helpful person. I found a combination that was small but a little heavy but was easy to pack. You will find several choices.
