should we use animals for our scientific investigations? why? can we use alternatives for that?

Sometimes we have to use animals for scientific investigations - there have been many medical breakthroughs because of this method of research. It's true that some animals die because of these investigations, but millions of people are saved because of them!

I think using animals as test subjects is despicable. Imagine the pain they go through. It's unnecessary. If the products, drugs, or whatever scientific chemicals are going to be used on humans, then humans should be the test subjects[if this happens, it should still be a matter of free will, because I would hate to see people abusing human rights]. It's obvious that they use animals because the substances are too harmful to try on humans first without major reactions. It does matter if people test on animals, because t...
