Can I use an electric blanket with my down comforter?

Or any other blankets for that matter? I have my down comforter in a duvet cover and am wondering if I should put the electric blanket between me and the down comforter or if the down comforter is most effective being closest to your body so should I put other blankets on top of it?

I always put the down comforter on the top. It seems to hold in all of the heat. I also like sleeping under down in the summer with no other blanket. But it's cool where I live.
