What is the value of energy?
Asked by: kc5255 from PHILADELPHIA, PA
Without giving it a passing thought, we expect energy?electricity, gasoline, natural gas, home heating fuel?to be available at our fingertips for mere dollars a day. If we were to take the time to really think about it, what would we say the true value of energy is? How does energy influence our own lives, our nation, our world? Are we locked into existing forms of energy or is there something better? How much would you pay to find out?

Certainly have given this more that just a passing thought. Our civilization would collapse without energy.
Our problem is that the free market is not being allowed to function to find something better. Politicians are passing so many laws to keep this from happening. The people are convinced that our puny oil companies are the problem. It is not their job to find alternatives. Our largest is 12th in the world with 5% control of supplies and a low percentage profit.
