I remember when I was 12 I was running 2:05 inthe half.. and the part ofmy training that was responsible was form.. as I grew more mature... I found that mileage mixed with hills and resistance training forms an excellent training regimen. I've competed at the d-1 level, and have carried all these things with me. Sprints should be a large part of your program. The 800 isn't really an endurance event. You should squat, lunge, etc for 13-20 repetitions, with about 30 seconds rest between sets. This keeps you in the strength endurance zone. Run hill sprints with a weighted vest!

If your high school has a gym you should ask your weight training coach about a machine called a glute-ham machine. It obviously works on your glutes and hamstring to make them stronger which would make you more explosive which would make you run much faster. Also, sprints and long distance running would help!
