The disadvantage is that when they go away to college there is more of an adjustment. Big city people seem to have a certain veneer that small town people don't. The adjustment happens and it is no longer a problem.
After graduation they will be moving to where there are more opportunities, They will have their own families so that is not such a bad thing.
Now my grandson will grow up in a suburb. Is that so different? I am hoping for it to have the advantages of both.
