They stick 'em anywhere. Try near the rear axle, or in the spare tyre cavity. You can take it back to the place that fitted it and get them to remove it.

I take it you didn't steal the car!

If you're the type who just may be the victim of undercover GPS tracking (read: promiscuous), you should give some serious thought to this one. This simple cigarette adapter plug-in reportedly "knocks out GPS logging or GPS tracking systems that may be operating in your vehicle," and considering that it sports a two-to-four meter operating range, just about every automobile outside of an 18-wheeler (or limousine) should be covered. Unfortunately, there's no word yet on how much this potential life-saver will c...

Well i can tell you this:

If you think your car is being tracked: Radio-frequency tracking devices can be found by bug detectors, but there’s no high-tech way to expose the GPS devices that can be attached by magnet to your
vehicle. Still, you can seek them out the old-fashioned way [see “Taking the Low Road”].

WOW!!! looking at all your answers, only one seems to have a general idea of how this works. The cigarette lighter is typically used as the Ground. Cut the wires from here and you have disabled it. If your car is XM or Sirius Satelite enabled the you have disassemble those systems COMPLETELY. These systems can track you at anytime. I do this for a living and assure you that the info I give you is correct. Good luck and hope all works out in your favor....

Before you buy a vehicle, they must tell you if a GPS tracking device has been installed in your car. however, if you lease your vehicle, they do not have to. This came about from a lawsuit filed by a Corvette owner who did not know that he had a tracking device when he purchased his brand new car, until his insurance company used his increased speeding habits tracked through the device, to raise...

Check out this device that plugs into your car's lighter slot and completely disables all GPS signals within a 5 meter range. It basically sends out a signal that confuses any GPS tracking devices in your car.
