Asking for salary range without an interview - what's the best thing to do?
Asked by: theone from -
When applying for a job, so many companies now ask for your salary range BEFORE they ever meet you or interview you. I have a hard time doing that when all the details aren't on the table. In my latest cover letter concern, I would be managing employees but I don't know how many. I'm not given the job hours nor the travel commitment (there will be some.)

I would love ideas how to cover this in the cover letter specifically.

Thanks!

The thing to do is to put a minimum salary in the cover letter. If the job doesn't pay enough to cover your requirements, pursuing it will be a waste of time for everybody. This is a common practice and actually enhances your chances.
You must be pretty sharp during the interview to evaluate things when you find out the particulars. My opinion is that you must ask at least one question during the interview about the job particulars to increase your chance...
