This is the ultimate pessimist versus optimist question. If you look at any situation - ANY situation at all - you will always find two ways of looking at it. There are at least two logical perspectives behind everything.

Anytime you are focusing on the bad things in life, you can always look at the good things that you have. You are responsible for your feelings, and you can choose to see the world around you any way that you like.

When you think about it it goes either way. Some people see the glass half full because they see their life as a world of opportunities theses people go about their day not thinking about all the worries in life just going about it with an open mind. Now there is the side to this glass and thats the half empty. theses people think of their glass half empty because they fill like their time is slowly depleting and worry about ever little thing that could go wrong in a day theses people during their life time have had lit...

Human beings naturally want to boil everything in life down to a very simple yes/no, black/white world. It makes things easier for us to deal with, but there are very few things that we can do this with.

Assuming that we consider "glass half full" to be Optimistic and "glass half empty" to be Pessimistic, then any one of us can be either, changing perhaps multiple times in the same day. I would say, as a ...

Is the glass half empty or half full? is a common expression, used rhetorically to indicate that a particular situation could be a cause for optimism (half full), pessimism (half empty), realism ("that depends on whether you are pouring or drinking"), functionalism (twice as large as it needs to be), logical (the other half is filled with air), cynical (it will be broken soon enough anyways, so who cares?), pathological (water causes drowning), phrenological (a bump on the head by the glass would cause a bump ...

It`s on the mood of the person who watches the glass. The logic vs. the emotional thing is what should be considered here. In other words: you think or you feel.
