i have a 1993 gmc suburban 5.7L 4wd. i also have a 1990 chevy caprice with a 350 in it also and a 350 transmission that is not working. is it possible to take the tranny out of the suburban and put it in the caprice? if it is possible will any thing have to be changed? someone please answer me i need help.

(03/30/08):
my 93 suburban has 2 drive shafts (i think thats what they are called im pretty inexperienced when it comes to cars) 1 going to the front two tires and 1 going to the back and it has a huge crankshaft will that cause a problem? will i have to leave the 1 in the front disconnected?

Yes it should work. You will have to change the out-put shaft from the 1990 transmission to the 1993 transmission. You will have to use the tail housing from the 1990 transmission on the 1993 transmission. Pay attention to the shifter linkage on the transmissions and swap accordingly. Also compair the kickdown cables and swap as needed. This should work if both transmissions are of the same type. Such as: Turbo350/turbo350 or 700R/700R. NO, The Tranny from the sububan wouldn't easily be installed in the caprice even if it would don't waste your time puting a 4wd Transmission into a 2 wheel drive car. This would be a waste of time and money. Ill asume you wouldnt be doing it your self, to pay to have it done... you should just find a new car. Part those 2 out or have them properly repaired.
