We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.

Sometimes it ends up that friends are more important to you. The reason for this is that we choose our friends. We choose people who we like being around and that have something to offer us. Family on the other hand can be easier to ignore because we are born into these relationships and often times your family members are people you would never be friends with and maybe even dislike.

Friends can seem more important sometimes because we like them more. If we didn't like them we would stop being friends with them. That's why to me family is more important because you maintain your relationships with them no matter the circumstances. Sometimes you can get into a situation where you wouldn't be able to depend on a friend for help and that is when you appreciate your family the most.

Friends are because they are my family. I grew up in an orphanage so I dont consider people my family unless they are my friends.

Family is more important cuz you will always have your family to rely on in hard times where most friends would drop you til the hard times are over

family any day - my 3 sons are my very best friends Ive ever had. As they grew up I guided them rather than laid down the laws of what was right and wrong - I pointed them in the direction I thought was right and if they went wrong they came back and told me they did things their way (usually eating humble pie)

they come to me when they need a shoulder and tell me absolutely anything. I go to them too. If nobody has a problem (which is the normal situation, fingers crossed) then we just enjoy each others company and have such great laughs together.

My parents, bless them, are my best buddy's too - always there for the family - me, my boys, my grand children.

Friends come and go but your family will/should never leave your side. Happy times or sad.

Family's the most important. Friends may come and go but your family is always going to be your family. That's why it's important to make sure your family comes first.

i live far away from my family. my family is spread out in different countries. and my immediate family now is my friends. i love my family en friends on a different level. they are both so very important with me.

Personally for me, it's definately Family. Friends are great but my family are my driving force right now and they're amazing :)

It's hardest to change things in people closest to you. My family made me, so they are important, and most of all,they are least resistant to my influence. Friends can see me in a different light because it's more often that I am actively being happy with them or trying to make them happy - they get more influenced.
But I can say that my true friends are a different part of my family...

blood is thicker than water.
Friends dont have the same close connection that is within family.
At the end of the day its usually the case that family will be there for you.

Family is always first...Friends may come and go but your family will always be. That said I consider all my closest friends to be family.
