A new/old Drug?
Asked by: dayotte from -
I recently did a paper on happiness and came upon the question if happiness is a drug.

Think about it. Most drugs cause a good feeling, that you want to stay in forever. Then, after its gone you feel kind sad and lonely since its no longer there. It then takes more and more to make you feel the same as you once did. When you aren't on the drug you are sick and don't feel well if its been to long.

Happiness can be placed in here since we all want to be happy, in fact most people's goal in life is to be happy. When you aren't happy, you are sad, depressed, lonely, or anything not happy. The same things that made you happy once, might not always make you happy again, so you need a much more of it. Lastly, when you aren't happy for to long, you get depressed badly and suffer badly.

So is my deduction right? Are there some serious faults (both mentally and philosophical)? Or post any other comments. I know I wrote a lot but that was to make sure you understood the question.

Well, I myself do not think that happiness is a drug. I mean look at it this way, you are a human being and when you feel happy you smile, that's just the way we are. You feel really sad, maybe you cry. If we take it your way, then we would have to take a lot of our daily actions to be drugs, and in real life we have control over drugs. We decide if we like to have them or not, happiness just comes by itself some times. Like say you're really depressed, and just SUPPOSE something bad happened to one of your family membe...

Man exists and progressive with value systems which are determined in magnitude and direction thru dichotomy. Man needs to experience something of greater benefit, use it as a bearing and pursue, integrate it, then diverge, knowing he can come back to a pleasant result. To never leave, stagnates, and causes loss of free will, which can be co...
